Prof. Dr. Thomas Koch

Welcoming to WMK24

Prof. Dr. Thomas Koch · KIT · Leiter des Instituts für Kolbenmaschinen (IFKM)

The Hydrogen Engine Conference will take place for the 5th time in September 2024. This time, we have chosen a special venue for the event.

On the one hand, the ZKM, the Centre for Art and Media, is one of the world's best-known cultural institutions with a high affinity for the topics of digitalisation and globalisation. The ZKM therefore offers an excellent basis for the topic of the hydrogen engine, which is being developed worldwide and has already been proposed as a modern, future zero-emission technology ZEV.

The conference is also being held in conjunction with the Hydrogen Live exhibition organised by the Hydrogen Engine Alliance (Allianz Wasserstoffmotor e.V.) and documents the unique research and development activities of industry, SMEs, research institutes and all institutions that are intensively involved with the hydrogen engine.

In addition to other technical challenges, this year's conference will focus on overarching challenges, such as legal or political issues, which will accompany the hydrogen engine on its way to series production.

We look forward to interesting Hydrogen Days 2024 in Karlsruhe and cordially invite you to join the discussion in Baden.
